ANALISIS EKSERGI PADA ROTARY KILN DI INDUSTRI SEMEN
Abstract
The cement industry is one of the most energy intensive industries in the world because in the production process it consumes about 12-15% of the total energy use and is equivalent to 30-40% of the total cement production cost. Exergy analysis is needed to determine work losses on a machine or system. In the calculation of exergy heat capacity data is needed. Because the mass that enters the kiln is in the form of chemical compounds, to calculate the heat capacity according to the chemical substances in the compound. Based on the calculation results, it is found that the ratio of raw materials to clinker is 1.87 kg/kg clinker with a specific energy value of 1.753.93 kJ/kg clinker. The energy efficiency values are 94.16%, 89.40%, and 72.40%. The exergy efficiency values were 39.07%, 52.75%, and 43.49% and the exergetic efficiency values were 71.79%, 49.22%, and 65.75%. The efficiency of fuel use in kilns varies from one another, depending on the type of kiln and the process used. The energy and exergy values of the clinker can be calculated per unit mass of the clinker product produced.
